common mallow

 so, this was back in 2017 as well..  this plant started growing in my garden and i wasn't sure what it was so i let it grow..   it ended up being this mallow plant.  That year seemed to be a good year for them, i had never really noticed them before and they were coming up all over!  This one in my garden got HUGE!  

in my experience the flowers of this guy are not all that easy to see, they are quite small and they always seemed to be closed up for me..  perhaps they open up in the morning and close at night?  i don't know, but it is very unlike a lovely purple mallow that i've also grown in the yard.

i know of a particular patch in an alley that is full of these plants..  they usually do not get very big though.
